The refining
Before being ready to be transformed, precious metals in Argor-Heraeus are processed in segregated production lines to achieve a purity in perfect compliance with worldwide regulations. To extract precious metal from doré bars and scrap, the raw material undergoes a series of processes such as melting, gold parting and electrolytic baths to achieve an exceptional purity level of up to 999.99 ‰.
They provide the best possible service by employing the most advanced available technologies an using only sworn essayers, trained and supervised by the Swiss central office for the control of precious metals.
The Origin
Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium obtained from traceable, legitimate sources, preserving human rights and biodiversity standards. Approximately half of the precious metals used by Argor-Heraeus are recycled; the rest is responsibly sourced from various parts of the world under Argor-Heraeus’ strict control. All the processed materials are traceable, obtained from legitimate sources and passed on to responsible partners. That’s why is employed a rigid Compliance Management System, based on the pillars of Corporate Governance, Social Responsibility and Environmental Impact. These three pillars are built on a strong and solid foundation – their company culture of Responsibility.

Argor-Heraeus gold exceeds LBMA’s Good Delivery standards by achieving the fineness 999.9‰. For special applications, such as the electronics industry, our technologies enable us to achieve the exceptional purity level of 999.99 ‰.
Silver
Like gold, our silver also exceeds LBMA‘s standards (999.0‰) by achieving a purity of 999.9 ‰.
Platinum
Refined to a purity of 999.5‰, all platinum processed by Argor-Heraeus comes exclusively from recycled sources.
Palladium
Like platinum, palladium refined by Argor-Heraeus reaches a purity level of 999.5‰. It is also not obtained from mining activities but only from recycled sources.
